It would be useful to add some tips for different stages of R&D, for observations to questions to hypothesis to experiments, and back to observations.

Research and development (R&D) refers to innovative activities undertaken in exploring ideas and developing new services or products or improving existing ones.

If you have a research project in development, you can post it to this page. It doesn't need to be necessarily something useful so long as it is seeking understanding of something, nor does it need to be successful at what it seeks to do. Failures can provoke thought and further research into understanding why it failed. Only by willing to stare our failures in the face can we learn from them and have a breakthrough.
